Really there was nothing for Lee to do. She was changing houses and didn't know who she was moving in with. She had gotten into conflicts with her last roommate and just hoped that this one would be reasonable; to her standards. The room that she was presently in was large and suited her basic needs. There was a desk, bed, dresser, closet and shelves lining one wall.
Lee had already put up some of her drawings around the room because she hated it being so blank and empty in there. She had finished putting away all of her clothes an hour ago and was now setting up her makeup on the desk, which she had countless amounts of.
Lee could only be described as punky looking. She was wearing a belly shirt that had a forest pattern on it. Strings that attached to the back of the shirt were tied around her mid section. She was also wearing a pair of black denim shorts and ankle boots. Her hair was pulled back into a pony-tail and feather earrings hung from her ears.
Lee's makeup was smoky and dark around her eyes; her lips were dark blood red. She was very pale because of her night-only swimming ritual that she practiced every night. She was thin but a small indention of muscle definition could be seen around her abs and limbs. Her face was heart shaped and slender, almost structural.
She was lucky that the island provided batteries for her radio which now was bursting out rave music. Her head bobbed to the intense thump of each hit of the base. She enjoyed fast and loud music the most and couldn't live without it.
Her eyes rested on her sewing machine which she then gingerly put on top of the desk. Her materials for sewing were in the closet and some were on the shelves above the bed. The king sized bed took up most of the room. There were black sheets with an overlay of white lace that Lee had made a few months ago. The snowy white pillows were made of silk and softened up the look of the bed.
Lee looked around at her handy work and sighed. It felt like home once again. She put an enormous floppy black beach hat on her head and some sunglasses before leaving the room. She was hungry and hoped that her roommate had some fruit to satisfy Lee's vegetarian diet. Her boots clunked across the hardwood before she closed the door behind her.

Lee walked, one foot in front of the other, to the giant refrigerator. The kitchen of the house wasn't much different from her old one. All of the appliances were stainless steel and state-of-the-art, the flooring was hard wood, and the counter tops were a sandy color of granite. It was truly beautiful even though it didn't seem like Lee's taste.
She pulled out a bag of instant oriental salad and started opening cupboards to find a bowl. When she found was she needed she plucked a fork from a basket of silverware and sat on the counter top. Lee gazed down at the beach which was only about twenty feet away from the house. It was a good day and she couldn't wait for tonight when the waves would crash harder and the moon would make every drop sparkle like the stars. She found it almost poetic.
After she finished she didn't move. She threw the bowl in the sink so she could wash it later and continued to stare at the impression of the waves on the sand. Mesmerized, she rested there for about twenty minutes; still as stone.
