Chace was wandering the village on his 12th day of island life, when he spotted an unfamiliar building in the distance. Set back into the hillside, surrounded by a stone wall and iron gates was a very large, very impressive looking mansion. As he approached, his brows raised as he admired it even further. It was much more desirable than any of the other buildings here....
He was standing at the gate, his hand resting against the stone of the wall as a sudden idea struck him - why didn't he go and explore? A smirk crossed onto his face as his old reckless self began to shine through - a smirk that soon transformed into a crooked grin. His eyes followed the line of the wall, looking for a tree that was just close enough to be able to reach the top... and one of these he found.
He walked slowly over to the tree, thinking about the reports he had had from other orphans regarding the inhabitant of this house, one Mandy Rivers. He had pretty much been told that she was a living, breathing she-devil, who gets a kick out of punishing orphans.... well, from what he had heard, her punishments were lame - chores, or sit for X amount of time on a hill.... sounds awful! Chace just laughed out loud, and, reaching the tree, began to climb up it, careful not to dislodge his iPod from his pocket...
Reaching the top, he climbed out along a branch, then jumped across to the wall, easily balancing on top before dropping down and landing in a crouch on a patch of grass at the other side. He looked around briefly, smirk still present, before shrugging lightly and beginning his exploration....
In all fairness, there wasn't much to see. The garden was relatively plain, just grass and the odd flower, yet the majority of the windows were either too high to peer into or clouded by curtains or thick netting. "d**n." he muttered, before another idea struck him....
Glancing around more carefully this time, he strode quickly over to the back door, before testing the handle. Locked. Figures! He frowned slightly, before noticing that he was standing on a welcome mat... Digging his hand around underneath, his grin returned as he produced a small silver key. He put the key in the lock, and with an intake of breath, turned the lock, turned the handle, and stepped into Mandy Rivers's home...
