Chase just ignored her as she walked beside him, staring straight ahead, thought her words entered his thoughts. The word 'cannibals' only brought a smirk to his lips, yet the absence of a throne only helped to make the idea of being royal even more pointless to him.
As she stepped in front of him, he accidentally bumped into her and she fell to the ground. He made a grab for her, but missed, and had to step to the side so he wouldn't fall on top of her. "Look, I'm sorry." he muttered, offering his hand to help her to her feet.

Sam finally got her breath back. She groaned softly and laid her head back against the path. She looked up at the trees and watched as birds flew around trying to find a place to perch. She swallowed and looked at Chace. She took his hand and stood up. Sam looked him in the eyes. She was searching for any spark of mystery or greed. He wanted the throne, didn't he?
Tell me the truth; how badly do you want the throne? She whispered. Her face was just mere inches away from Chace's but she didn't care. In fact she really didn't realize it at all. The thing she was worried about was her spot on the throne. The spot that she loved and wanted to keep.

Chace was trapped under Sam's gaze. He noticed the intensity of the blue, and it held his eyes on hers. "Truthfully?" he whispered back, his face void of expression. He leaned his face in closer to hers and around so that his lips were beside her here. "You can keep it." he whispered, the smirk forming fully on his face as he pulled his head back and laughed, turning to walk away from her again.

Sam nodded slightly, still staring into Chace's eyes. She swallowed when he moved closer and whispered in her ear. Here it comes. She mentally braced herself and waited for the worse. Her eyes widened slightly when he said that he didn't want it. Sam watched as he walked away. Good because you and your under age girlfriend wouldn't do a very good job. She said, her voice dripping with some posion.
She meant what she said and she wouldn't take it back, no matter what Chace did to her. Sam dusted herself off the best that she could and turned to walk in the other direction. She stopped a few yards away and sat down under a tree. She watched Chace for a while before looking away.

Chace smirked at her comment and tone, and muttered "Jealousy" though just loud enough that she could hear it. He turned back to look at her, winked once, then continued to walk down the hill, laughing lightly to himself as he went.
Sam was so irritated with him, though the 'girlfriend' comment had only made his heart leap - his plan was working, Sam was falling under his spell, not matter how much she denied it.

Sam's eyes narrowed at his comment. She stood up and jogged up behind him. Jealous? Of what? I don't see anything I like. She said. Sam walked past him and looked him over. Absolutely nothing. She smirked and looked away. She walked on until something wrapped around her ankle.
A rope pulled her up and she dangled by her ankle from a chair. Sam's eyes widened and she tried to sit up to where she could untie the knot but it was too late. A group of ten cannibals came out from the trees and shot her in the neck with a dart. The dart knocked her out and she quit struggling. Some cannibals came up behind Chace and made a grab for him.

Chace heard Sam approaching, and he smirked again. He frowned at her comment, and raised one brow as she looked him up and down. "Oh well sorry to disappoint you Malibu Barbie, but you aren't exactly much special either." he retorted, his voice rather bitter, but he didn't care. She had really insulted him there...
He watched as she walked by, and as she rose into the air he shouted "Sam!" His eyes widened, and he ran towards her. Just several feet away, he saw the dart fly from the bushes and watched as Sam's consciousness faded. He shouted her name again, before hearing someone behind him. He turned his head to see three kids, all younger than him. They grabbed at his arms, pinning them behind his back. He struggled, and managed to shake them loose before turning towards them, his hands balled into fists. He noticed their weapons, and cried out as a young boy lashed out at him with a silver knife, cutting a deep wound into his thigh. As he pressed his hands around the wound, trying to stop the heavy blood flow, he felt something hit him hard on the back of the head, and everything went dark...

A huge male cannibal untied Sam and carried her toward their village. The others all grabbed Chace and picked him after tying a piece of cloth around his wound. They carried them for the long distance without tiring. They reached the village and laid Chace down on the floor of a small hut. They laid Sam next to him and they closed the door, waiting for them to wake up.
Sam groaned and fluttered her eye lids. At first everything was blurry and soon it began to clear up. She slowly sat up and looked around the small hut. Chace was still out and they were laying on animal furs. Obviously bedding that the cannibals used. A cannibal noticed she was awake and signaled for someone to come.
Sam frowned and scooted back a bit on her butt. The chief came and kissed his hand then he pointed at Sam and Chace. Sam frowned and tilted her head to the side in confusion. The chief grunted and pointed at the pictures on the inside of the hut. The first one was of two stick figures holding hands, the next was of the stick figures kissing and the last was of the stick figures holding a baby.
Sam's eyes widened and she shook her head quickly. No no no! She shouted. But it was too late. The chief closed the door and locked it.

Chace opened his eyes, and sat up quickly - too quickly. His head spun and he had to lay his head between his knees. After a few moments, he looked up, and saw Sam sitting beside him, looking horrorstruck. "What's wrong? Where are we?" he said hurriedly, his eyes showing panic though his voice was calm.
He glanced aroung the hut, instinctively walking to the door and testing the handle, though it was locked. "d**n!" he muttered, banging his fist against the wall before walking back over to Sam. "Sam, what is it?" he asked, noticing the look in her eyes.

Sam had had gather up her knees to her chest and she was laying her hand on them when she felt Chace stir. She lifted her head and watched as he woke up and sat up to quickly. She looked away when he got up and tested the door, cussing. Sam looked up at him. She averted her gaze, not wanting to look him in the eye anymore.
The cannibals want us to....sleep together. She whispered and looked over at the three pictures on the wall. Painted in red. They seemed like an omen to her in that color. In fact they would seem like an omen no matter what color they were painted in. Sam slowly looked up at Chace. She really didn't want to see his reaction. Whether it be good or bad.

Chase's brows furrowed in confusion. He said nothing, just kept his gaze on Sam, though she couldn't meet it. He looked on the wall to see the stick figures painted in red. His eyes and mouth opened wide in shock.
He turned towards Sam once more. "We- I- erm- what are we going to do?" he stammered, running his hand through his hair as his heart raced. Though people generally got the wrong impression of him, he was in fact still a virgin. He didn't want it to happen like this. It's not the fact that the girl was Sam, more the whole situation.
Walking over to the door again, he banged on it hard. "Hey! Let us out of here!" he shouted, his voice definitely showing the panic he was trying hard to hide. He heard heavy footsteps on the other side of the door, and sighed in relief as the lock turned and the door opened.
A tall, muscular guy of roughly 16 stood on the other side. His eyes were narrowed in obvious anger, and he shoved Chace hard in the chest. He pointed towards Sam, his eyes boring into Chace's, then pulled out a knife from his waistband. He held it up threateningly, then pointed once to Sam, then once again to the knife, as if to say "Do it, or you feel the knife in your chest." Chace's eyes widened in horror, and he took a step back. The guard turned with a sneer, and slammed the door, locking it behind him.
Chace turned to Sam, but said nothing.

Sam saw Chace's reaction to the pictures. Unfortunately. She looked away and shook her head softly. Why her? Why this? Sam's head went up immediately when Chace banged on the door. She stood up and slowly walked over. Her eyes widened when a huge teen pointed a knife at her. She backed away and swallowed.
Sam covered her mouth with her hand at what the guard said. She shook her head moved toward the door to plead but he slammed it shut and locked it once more. She dropped her hands to her side and stared at the ground. Great. They had no choice. Not if they wanted to die. Sam looked at Chace and then looked away.
She moved back over to the furs and sat down. Sam sighed softly and looked up at Chace. We have no choice. She whispered. Her gaze moved back to the furs she was sitting on once more. Sam ran her fingers through it.

Chace watched Sam from the corner of his eye. She had been about to plead before the door was slammed. He continued to stare straight ahead for a moment, hearing her words but not responding straight away. His mind was racing... there had to be some other way, surely!
He turned slowly towards her, and walked over, sitting beside her and resting his head in his hands. "I guess you're right." he admitted, his eyes closed now as he bit his lower lip softly. He sighed, and ran a hand through his hair before turning towards her and looking into her eyes.
"Sorry about the Malibu Barbie comment." he muttered, before dropping his gaze. He moved a little closer towards her, shifting his hand so it was just touching hers and storking it gently.

Sam shook her head softly. She didn't even bother answering his panicked comment. There was no other way. Unfortunately. She looked over at him when he apologized. I apologize about the underage girlfriend thing, it's not like a five year difference. She said. Sam frowned slightly when he stroked her hand. No one had done that to her before.
She looked at him and realized how close they were. That made her nervous. Any other situation she wouldn't have noticed. But this situation made closeness stand out far too much for her taste. Sam swallowed and looked into Chace's eyes. She looked away for a moment. This was awkward.

Chace smiled softly as she, too, apologized. As he noticed her frown, he pulled his hand back to his side. "Sorry." he murmured, looking away. He found himself once again studying the three pictures on the wall. He ran a hand through his hair again - he found he did this much more when he was nervous, but it was a force of habit.
He could sense how uncomfortable she was, but he didn't move further away from her. The fact was if she was uncomfortable now, then how would she be when they began to, you know....
"So..." he whispered, looking up at her again, frowning slightly. "What are we going to do?"
