Chace nodded, biting his lower lip. He disappeared under the furs.
>>>>>>>>>> later >>>>>>>>>>>
Chace pulled on his shorts and ran a hand through his hair. His face was slightly pale, and his eyes were wide. He turned towards Sam and whispered "Are you okay?"

Sam watched him disappear under the covers. She held her breath for a few moment before releasing it. Here they go.
---------
She quickly pulled her underwear and shorts back on. Sam stayed sitting when she was finished getting dressed. It was throbbing a bit down there but she didn't want o say anything to Chace, that was just too embarrassing. Sam looked at Chace and nodded. Are you? She whispered.
Just then the door was thrust open. The chief stood in the open doorway. Sam saw how dark it had gotten since they had been captured. She pulled the blanket up to her chin and gasped. The Chief smiled and moved out of the way. He extended his arm telling them that they were free to leave. Sam threw the blanket off and hurried out the door. When she walked past the chief he said this: "Bring baby when it born." He said and smiled, showing his filed teeth.
Sam swallowed and turned around to face the hut, waiting for Chace.

Chase nodded too. He was okay, but it was as though electricity was pulsing through his body. He stood up to, concealing the used 'protection' in the pocket of his shorts. Chace followed her out the door, throwing the guard a look that was a mix between "Why did you make us do that?" and "Thanks for letting us go." He remained silent as the guard spoke, though his heart began to race in his chest. He nodded once, then turned towards Sam, grabbing her hand and pulling her into the forest. He led her back towards the main village. However, just before they exited the fringe of trees he came to a halt.
"One, what are we gonna do about the 'you bring baby' thing, and two, what do we tell people if they ask where we were?" The words came out hurriedly, and he ran a hand through his hair before walking to the nearest tree, resting his forehead on the trunk and slamming his fists against it.

Sam's heart pounded in her chest as they ran further and further away from the village. She stopped quickly when Chace did and began catching her breath. They had run for so long. She wasn't used to it. She could run, but not that far a distance. That's why she had a horse. So she could go faster. Once Sam caught her breath she flinched when Chace pounded his fists on the tree trunk.
I don't know Chace. I don't know. She said. Sam hated saying that because she always wanted to know. But this was one of those times that just left her clueless.

Chase turned to Sam, an apology in his eyes, though he was too stubborn to say sorry out loud. He nodded slowly, unclenching his hands and breathing deeply whilst lowering them to his sides. "Okay, we'll figure something out." he said, voice soft. "Until then I would say get some rest Sam, no offence, but you look exhausted."

Sam had been looking at the ground with her arms wrapped around her middle when Chace had turned to her. She slowly looked up at him when he spoke. Rest. That sounded like a wonderful idea to her. Perfect. Sam nodded slowly. I look like crap, I know. Well, good bye Chace. She said and gave him a weak smile as she began walking toward the tree line. Just on the other side was the village. Once she crossed she would have to sneak and hide to get to the temple where she could finally rest.

Sam's smile was a mere fraction of what it had been the first time he saw her, and though he knew the previous situtation was unavoidable, he felt almost totally responsible. "You could never look like crap." he said softly, mainly to himself though he was unsure if she heard as she walked away. He breathed in slowly, then turned to walk to the right and towards his small house in the village. Sam looked completely destroyed by this situation.... though he felt something similar inside. Reaching his home, he collapsed onto the bed and lay on his back, not sleeping, merely staring at the ceiling and thinking about what had happened...

Sam was too far away for her to hear the words that came from Chace's lips. They were too soft to hear even if she was closer. She hid in shadows and ran when she could as she moved through the village to the dirt path. Sam did not want to be seen until morning. Her feet ran across the dirt path and into the temple and to the safety of her bedroom. She took a shower, dressed in her pj's and fell onto the bed. Sam cried herself to sleep that night and come morning she would go see Jack. He would know just what to say to make her feel better.
