Sam giggled once more and rotated her shoulder blades as if she was getting rid of a pesky fly. Luckily Chace stopped and that bought a smile to her lips. She sighed softly when he rested his hand on her lower back. She felt safe when he did that. Sam closed her eyes and sighed once more. This was so peaceful.

Chace grinned as he felt her shoulder blades move under his hand, but it had already moved to her waist. He pulled her closer towards him again, kissing her lightly on the cheek as he toyed with the bottom of her curls. He breathed softly, and his heart rate was finally relaxed, yet it sped up once again with the prospect of asking the question he desperately needed to ask. "Sam," he whispered softly, "can I ask you something?"

Sam lifted her head and smiled when Chace kissed her cheek. She looked down and watched as he fiddled with her curls. She would let him this time since she stopped him last time. Sam raised her eyebrows in question when Chace started whispering again. He needed to ask her something? Sure, why not. Yeah? She asked softly. Chace seemed a bit nervous. What for? He was just asking a question, right?

Chase swallowed, then ran a hand through his hair, allowing it to rest on Sam's lower back once again. He dropped his gaze to the ground, his voice quiet as she spoke. "Well, I was just wondering if you think there could ever be, you know, anything between us." He looked up at her, his face felt hot with embarassment.

Sam's eyebrows furrowed when Chace swallowed. He seemed really nervous now. her eyebrows then rose after the question was let out into the open. She let out a whoosh of breath while she thought about. Sam shrugged her shoulders. She wasn't really sure. Do you want there to be something between us? She asked softly.

Chace bit his lower lip lightly, and his arm dropped to his side so Sam was no longer pressed against him. He watched her reaction carefully, and had been about to say "Never mind, it's a stupid question!" before Sam answered him. He had been about to shrug too, but then something inside told him he should tell her the truth. He nodded softly. "Since the first day on the island. Couldn't you tell? My eyes were only for you, and Jamila-" he stopped. She didn't know about the Jamila situation. Should he tell her? No...
"You didn't seem at all interested in me, but Jamila looked as though she needed company, so I thought maybe if I tried dating someone else I could rid myself of all the lust I held for you." His gaze was on the floor again now. "I mean, at first it was just lust. Then I got to know you a little better. Your sarcasm, the looks you gave me - for some reason it only fuelled this unimaginabledesire I held for you. Even when we were arguing, I was oddly happy because it meant I was talking to you."
He sighed deeply, chancing a glance up at her, before continuing, his voice a mere whisper now. "Then after what happened with the cannibals, I saw you in a completely different light. I knew I liked you, and that it was becoming more than lust. Just before the punishment hill scenario, it broke my heart to see the looks you were giving me. If looks could kill and all that. Then when I was up there, starving, being beaten, I could think of nothing but you. Though there was anger, there was still this underlying sensation of want. I went to the temple with every intention of releasing all my anger at you, but then you showed the other side of you, the softer, caring side, and I realised I couldn't stay mad at you. These past few hours with you have been the best of my life, no competition.
I would love for there to be something between us. If you don't then please tell me now, so that I can try to move on properly." He looked up at her again now, to gauge her final reaction. Already he was cursing himself for saying so much in such an overdone manner.

Sam watched Chace bite his lower lip. He was really embarrassed by his question. Why? She wasn't. Well, not as much as he was. She wrapped her arms around her waist and look at Chace when he asked her if she noticed his reactions when they first met. She gave a slight nod. She did remember that, slightly anyway.
Sam raised an eyebrow when Chace said that he had dated Jamila so he could 'get rid' of his lust for her. Someone had actually lusted after her?! She could barely belief it. She was was just Sam Dillinger, a blonde, blue eyed orphan. Nothing else. A small smile appeared and disappeared when Chace mentioned her sarcasm. yeah, she had a lot of that.
She waited patiently as Chace took a breath and looked at her before continuing. His voice was a whisper now so she had to lean in a little to him better. Sam swallowed when he mentioned the cannibal thing. That was horrible and scary. Something she did not want repeated. Her eyebrows raised again when Chace talked about thinking only of her while he was at Punishment Hill. Weird. If it was her she would be thinking of how to get away. But that was just her.
Sam gave a slight nod when Chace mentioned his arrival at the temple and how angry he had been. She was so thankful that she had gotten rid of his anger just by taking care of him. She did not want to know what he would have done to her if he had still been angry. her mouth opened slightly with awe and surprise when he said that the past few hours had been the best of his life.
They all had been spent with her and they were the best? That was new. But for some reason she liked it. And she took it as a compliment. Sam closed her mouth and smiled when Chace told her that he wanted there to be something between them. Sam moved closer to him and smiled once more. She leaned in and kissed his lips softly before whispering. Chace, I would like something to be between us too. Sam smiled and kissed him again.

Chace swallowed again as Sam stepped in close, but her smiles throughout his speech did encourage him slightly. His eyes widened as her lips planted on his, and a grin wound its way onto his face. "Really?" he whispered back just before their lips were locked again. He wrapped his arms around her waist again, forcing a lot more passion into his kiss to show Sam just how much he did want her.

Sam nodded when Chace asked if what she said was true. When she kissed him again just when she was about to pull away Chace wrapped his arms around her and pushed her toward him for a more passionate kiss. An 'Mmph!' came from her but she finally relaxed and kissed him back. Sam finally pulled away and smiled at Chace.

As Sam pulled away, Chace was somewhat breathless. He smiled back, his signature crooked grin weaving its way onto his lips. He released her from his arms, yet remeained close beside her, taking her hand in his. "Well then, I guess we need to organize some kind of date." He couldn't help but smirk. After all that had happened since he had arrived, it was so odd to be thinking of someting totally normal, like a date.

Sam smiled back when Chace did. Her lips slightly tingled from their kiss. She smiled softly when he took her hand in his. She liked that, a lot. Sam adjusted her pony tail with one hand and bit her lip when Chace said that they should organize some 'date'. She had never been on a date before. Um, ok. Sam said. She didn't know what else to say. Like I said, she had never been on a date before.

Chace was a little concerned when Sam began to bite her lip - she was nervous... but why? Yet she said yes to the date. He smiled softly, lifting her hand to his lips and kissing it softly, before lowering both their hands to his side again. His head was racing, trying hard to come up with an idea for a really special date - something she would never forget. Just then an idea sprung to mind. "Are you free tomorrow evening?" he enquired in a gentle voice.

Sam smiled when Chace brought her hands to his lips and kissed them. That relaxed her a bit. Everything was going to be ok. She watched his eyes and smiled again when his eyes brightened. He must have an idea. Sam tilted her head to the side in thought after Chace asked if she was available. She smiled again and nodded. Of course. She said.

Chace grinned widely. "Well then that's sorted. I have something in mind." He winked cheekily, then leaned forwards and planted a kiss on her lips again. His thoughts were on his plans for tomorrow... a late night picnic under the stars. He hoped that Sam would like that idea, though he would keep it a surprise until then. Something for her to look forward to...

Sam smiled and nodded in agreement. Everything was sorted. Wait! What were they going to do? Obviously Chace knew, but she didn't! She was practically bouncing on the inside but she didn't let it show on the outside. What were they going to do?! Sam was surprised and pulled from her thoughts when Chace kissed her. She smiled again. Ok, now what? She asked.
